During the Olympics, we watched Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan race in the rowing for a gold medal in 2012.
First, we started off slowly. The other rowers were in the lead until they started slowing down. We started going ahead of rowers, one by one.
Finally we were past all the rowers. We were nearly at the finish line and, suddenly, we were right at the end and we won the gold. Our class was cheering and we called them the New Zealand legends.
They were NZ legends, weren't they Molly. It was so exciting watching the race, and, especially exciting because it was our first gold medal of the Games. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
ReplyDeleteHi Molly, I love the way you wrote this, it took me back to when I was watching the race. Such a proud moment especially for a NZ'er living in Sydney. :)
